Glen Christian Honoured by Brandon Hill Residents

Residents of the district of Brandon Hill, Clarendon turned out on Sunday, July 10 to pay tribute to one of its most prominent citizens – Hon. Glen Christian, founder and CEO of the Cari-Med Group.  The event was organized by the leadership of the Privilege Baptist Church and friends of Brandon Hill. . Mr. Christian was born in Brandon Hill and attended the Brandon Hill Primary.  Generations of his family have been members of the Privilege Baptist Church.

Activities involved unveiling of a memorial to Mr. Christian at the entrance of the Evelyn Mitchell Infant School Centre of Excellence which was built by the Cari-Med Foundation.
Mr. Christian also declared open a health fair organized by a visiting medical team led by
Dr. Novlet Davis through the LJDR Davis Foundation.

In September 2010, the Evelyn Mitchell Infant School, named in memory of Glen Christian’s late mother, opened its doors to over 100 students from Top Hill and neighbouring communities.  The 7,000 sq. ft. facility was constructed at a cost of approximately J$70M.   The state-of-the art facility includes 3 classrooms, 6 bathrooms, a fully functional kitchen and eating area, an auditorium, a library, and administrative offices. The school is operated by the Ministry of Education.

In 2014, the Cari-Med Foundation collaborated with NCB to reopen the computer department of the Brandon Hill Primary School by equipping the facility with 20 new computers.

The Foundation also supports the Brandon Hill Evening Institute which has operated for the past four years out of the Brandon Hill Primary.
