Apotex/Cari-Med Ltd 20th Continuing Education Seminar for Pharmacists

Cari-Med Ltd celebrated the 20th year of providing Continuing Education Seminars for Pharmacists on Sunday October 12, 2014 at the Jamaica Pegasus hotel in Kingston.

The seminar was held in partnership with long standing co-sponsor, Apotex Inc., Canada’s leading manufacturer of generic pharmaceuticals.

Over the years Cari-Med Ltd has partnered with other suppliers such as Abbott, AstraZeneca, GlaxoSmithKline, Merck, Novartis, Janssen and Bayer in presenting highly anticipated Continuing Education seminars for Pharmacists.
The anniversary celebration was supported by just under 500 pharmacists who spoke glowingly of the usual high standard of the seminar.

There were presentations on the following topics:
· State of Healthcare Address by Professor Errol Morrison – Director General, National Commission on Science & Technology
· Reconfiguring Pharmacy Practice by Dr Karen Argo – Pharmacist & International Speaker
· The Search for the Perfect Antipsychotic by Dr. Aggrey Irons – Consultant Psychiatrist
· Spiritual Healing—Real Or Imagined by Dr. Orville Taylor- Sociologist & Talk Show Host
· Communicable Diseases—A Global Perspective Highlighting Fungi by Dr. Sean Moncrieffe—Lecturer, Head University of Technology School of Pharmacy

The Cari-Med Ltd Seminar Series for Pharmacists is accredited by the Pharmacy Council for Continuing Education Credits and is a collaborative effort with the Pharmaceutical Society of Jamaica.
